I launched my secret home restaurant last August as part of the Newcastle Gateshead Eat Festival’s 2012 programme of events. The feedback was excellent and I’ve continued to have regular events at my home, which I organise and promote through my website www.lulucookschinese.co.uk
As a small business passionate about sharing the authentic, home cooked food that I grew up eating in Xi’an, supper club/pop up kitchen provide the perfect setting for people to experience the delights of traditional Northern Chinese family food.
I have also combined recent supper club events with cookery classes teaching guests how to make fresh, handmade noodles and Chinese dumplings. My next noodle making class and supper club will take place on 16th, August and will be followed by a three course meal. I’m also really excited about my first pop up event at Carruthers & Kent in Gosforth on 28th, Jun where we will be treating guests to a five course taster Chinese feast with matching wines.
